The philosophy behind Serenity Creek

I grew up about 45 minutes west of Bloomington-Normal on a farm. I grew up learning to love small town values and the farming lifestyle.

Like many people who live here in Central Illinois, my family’s farming roots are still very close to my heart. Growing up with an agricultural background instilled in me the value of hard work and the importance of upholding people’s trust.

I graduated from Southern Illinois University with a specialty in Landscape Design/Horticulture. During my time in the southern part of our State, I absolutely fell in love with the outdoors.

The hills and sandstone cliffs of Shawnee National Forest opened my eyes. Today, my designs are still influenced by the beauty of timber, creeks and forest.

I bring my more than 20 years experience in residential and commercial landscape design, horticulture and landscaping to my own business, Serenity Creek Design & Landscaping, Inc., which I established in 2008.
